The San Francisco 49ers will be on the road for the second straight preseason game as they travel to Denver to play the Broncos on Sunday.
San Francisco is currently 1-1 in the preseason after losing 20-9 to the Houston Texans last week. The big news for the 49ers this week is the return of Aldon Smith. Smith injured his hip during the first preseason game and there was initially some concern that it would cause him to miss the rest of the preseason.
After sitting out the game against the Texans, Smith returned to practice Monday and could play Sunday against the Broncos. While San Francisco might get Smith back, they will be without running back Brandon Jacobs and cornerback Chris Culliver. Jacobs injured his knee against Houston and is out for the rest of the preseason while Culliver is also out with a knee injury.
The 49ers will face a Peyton Manning led Broncos offense which should provide a good test for San Francisco's defense. Denver is 1-1 during the preseason, but are coming off a 31-10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
Game Date/Time: Sunday, August 26; 4:00 p.m. ET
Location: Sports Authority Field at Mile High, Denver, Colo.
