Frank Gore To Accompany Nonito Donaire To Ring Saturday, Has Been Working Out With Him

Frank Gore is really awesome, in like thirty different ways at least. Bay Area-based boxer Nonito Donaire is really awesome, too. In like 28 different ways, given his 28-1 record. Donaire is set to take on Jeffrey Mathebula at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California on Saturday, where he'll likely achieve 29 different kinds of awesome.

Well, you can go ahead and just bump that up to 30 just by association, as the San Francisco 49ers running back will be accompanying Donaire to the ring, and will be carrying Donaire's WBO super bantamweight belt during the introductions, according to Steve Kim of Max Boxing on Twitter with a H/T to Niners Nation. That's pretty cool. Boxers often get their celebrity associations in the spotlight, the most notable of which (also noted by Niners Nation) is 50 Cent accompanying Floyd Mayweather to all of his fights.

That's cool and all, except Gore is way better than 50 Cent at pretty much everything ever. He probably raps better too, but he's a pretty quiet dude. Anyway, as it happens, Gore has been working out with Donaire under the guidance of Remi Korchemny, a "track guru." At the very least, it's nice to see that Gore is working with some reputable folks to keep in shape, especially given the fact that he has a ton of young, athletic talent to fight off at the RB position with the 49ers this coming season.
