49ers To Sign LB Eric Bakhtiari

When the opportunity arises, you have to pounce and it looks like linebacker Eric Bakhtiari has done just that.

According to reports, Bakhtiari is expected to get a contract offer from the San Francisco 49ers soon. You have to respect guys like Bakhtiari. He's bounced around the league for four years after signing with the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2008. He's signed with the Niners, Chargers (again), Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs since entering the league out of the University of San Diego. At USD is where he played for Jim Harbaugh.

With draft pick Darius Fleming and undrafted free agent Kourtnei Brown suffering hamstring injuries, Bakhtari has had a strong minicamp. This doesn't mean he'll make the 90-man roster when the season starts but at least he'll get the chance, and that's all an athlete can ask.
