With the San Francisco 49ers set to beak ground on their new Santa Clara stadium Thursday evening, many 49ers fans around the globe are hoping to catch a glimpse at some of the most historic dirt in franchise history being dug up with fancy shovels.
Well, the Niners love to give the fans what the ask for, setting up a special stream at 49ers.com to watch the groundbreaking live tonight at 6 p.m. PT.
Per 49ers CEO Jed York via Twitter:
Many of you have asked, so I want to confirm that you can watch the #groundbreaking live on 49ers.com at 6pm tonight

This truly is an historic moment for the franchise, as this is the 49ers first stadium made specifically for them. Kezar Stadium was built way before the Niners in 1925, and Candlestick was originally created for the Giants move from New York. But now the 49ers have a place they can call their own, starting the long building process this evening for all the world to see.
