NFL Playoff Schedule 2012: Packers Vs. Giants For Right To Face 49ers

We take a look at Sunday's NFC divisional round playoff schedule as the Packers and Giants square off for the right to face the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game.

The San Francisco 49ers wrapped up their spot in the 2012 NFC Championship Game with a wild 36-32 victory over the New Orleans Saints on Saturday. The players now get to rest a bit on Sunday and enjoy the other NFC divisional round matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the New York Giants. That game kicks off at approximately 1:30pm PT on FOX.

If the Packers win, the 49ers will head to Lambeau Field for the NFC title game. If the Giants win, the 49ers will host the NFC title game. I think we know what the 49ers are rooting for on Sunday. Add in the previous experience against the Giants and how good the Packers can be, and it makes sense to prefer a Giants victory.

The Packers are finally getting back near full health as they get Greg Jennings back for the first time in a month. He injured his knee in December and after initial concerns he might be done for the year, he has worked his way back and will play on Sunday. The Giants are dealing with a banged up Ahmad Bradshaw, but he'll be out there given the importance of this game.

The Packers head into the game as 7 1/2 point favorites over the Giants. The teams squared off in an epic Week 13 contest in which the Giants fell behind early but stormed back in the fourth quarter before losing on a last second Mason Crosby field goal.
