The San Francisco 49ers completed roster cuts yesterday to get down to a 53-man roster but the work is not yet done. A day after releasing Josh McCown and McCleod Bethel-Thompson, the 49ers have reportedly claimed Scott Tolzien off waivers and signed McBLT to the practice squad. Additionally, the 49ers have reportedly added C Chase Beeler, WR Joe Hastings, CB Cory Nelms, and TE Konrad Reuland to their practice squad. The team is allowed up to eight players on the practice squad.
The 49ers were reportedly interested in Tolzien during the undrafted free agent signing period and apparently it was a tough decision for Tolzien to sign with the Chargers over the 49ers. The Chargers decided to waive the rookie QB and if the reports are true, he is now a member of the 49ers 53-man roster. The question now is who will be released to make room for Tolzien.
