The San Francisco 49ers have cut 26 players from their roster and now have their 53-man squad set for the 2011 regular season. Here's the full list of players who were caught:

  • CB Phillip Adams
  • C Chase Beeler
  • QB McLeon Bethel-Thompson
  • DT Brian Bulcke
  • FB Jack Corcoran
  • CB Phillip Davis
  • T Derek Hall
  • WR Joe Hastings
  • WR Chris Hogan
  • WR Ronald Johnson
  • LB Alex Joseph
  • TE Nate lawrie
  • WR Lance Long
  • S Chris Maragos
  • QB Josh McCown
  • CB Cory Nelms
  • RB Xavier Omon

  • LB Kenny Rowe
  • NT Sealver Siliga
  • LB Monte Simmons
  • S Curtis Taylor
  • DB Anthony West
  • T Kenny Wiggins
  • G Tony Wragge
  • WR Dominique Ziegler

One notable cut on this list includes quarterback Josh McCown, who was brought in this offseason to provide a veteran presence amongst quarterbacks Alex Smith and Colin Kaepernick. The 49ers made the most cuts at wide receiver, where they released five players.

The 49ers have also placed tight end Nate Byham on injured reserve. The team, after cutting two tight ends, has only two tight ends on the 53-man roster: Vernon Davis and Delanie Walker. Brian Jennings is listed as a tight end but is more of a long snapper. The 49ers may look to shore up this position going forward.

San Francisco will begin the 2011 NFL season with this roster. The 49ers first game will be held on Sunday, Sept. 11th at home against the Seattle Seahawks at 1:15 PT. The game will air on FOX.
