Comcast Sports Presents "Into Africa With Vernon Davis"

Comcast SportsNet has announced a special premiering Sunday, August 21 at 2:30 pm titled "Into Africa with Vernon Davis," as they follow the San Francisco 49er Pro-Bowl tight end on a two-week mission to war-torn Uganda and Rwanda. Make the jump to learn more about this incredible story.

Davis was given a camera to document the trip, and is joined by his brother, Mimai Dolphins cornerback Vontae Davis, along with Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes, Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, free-agent tackle Bryant McKinnie, Tennessee Titans defensive end Derrick Morgan, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, and Cincinnati Bengals safety Roy Williams;  with the support and aid of  Pros For Africa and the Starkey Hearing Foundation

The players provided much needed food, clean drinking water, hearing aids, shoes and clothes, medical and dental care, financial assistance and more to women and children who have been victimized and orphaned in these war-torn countries.  They were accompanied by doctors, dentists and other volunteers from around the United States to aid them in their efforts.
