The Week 13 roster and ratings update for EA's Madden NFL 12 is set to go live on Friday, and with it comes many changes for the San Francisco 49ers. I'd like to point out here and now that some of them are absolutely idiotic. The 49ers have always gotten the shaft in the ratings, and it seems like all the increases on their eight-game winning streak were given grudgingly. Now that they lost a game - a very close game that took them three timezones in a short week - they have six players dropping in rating.
Six players. In a close loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Baltimore on a Thursday night. More infuriating is the fact that someone like quarterback Alex Smith is getting a decrease - he's dropping from 86 to 85, which is significant since, you know, he's a quarterback. That being said, it's not actually "infuriating" because it's just Madden, but it's actually somewhat hilarious to see just how far the finger is from the pulse sometimes. Still, it's not a total shakedown and the team did lose. Make the jump for the full list of changes.
