The conclusion of week nine of the NFL season means it is time for more power rankings. ESPN released their week ten NFL power rankings and they are setting up what looks like the matchup of the week coming up. The San Francisco 49ers are holding steady at number two while their week ten opponent, the New York Giants, climbed up to No. 6.
Based simply on the power rankings, Lions-Bears and Bengals-Steelers are the two other high quality matchups of the week, and it is sort of fitting. The Lions will be looking to hold steady in one of the final two playoff spots, while the Bengals are looking to prove they are a legit threat to the Steelers in the AFC North. It should make for an exciting weekend of football.
The Oakland Raiders continue their free-fall as they now sit at No. 21, but they face their own huge game on Thursday Night Football against the San Diego Chargers. With the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Denver Broncos, we will be looking at either one or two teams moving into first place as the wild AFC West logjam continues. There is still a lot of AFC West football to be played, so this division will likely go down to the wire.
Here are the top ten according to ESPN:
1. Green Bay Packers
2. San Francisco 49ers
3. Baltimore Ravens
4. New Orleans Saints
5. Pittsburgh Steelers
6. New York Giants
7. Detroit Lions
8. Houston Texans
9. Chicago Bears
10. Cincinnati Bengals
