49ers Vs. Browns: The Last Time Vernon Davis Was 'Frustrated' ...

It'd be inaccurate to say San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis is disappointing this season. Davis only has 27 receptions for just under 300 yards and three touchdowns on the season, but he's been the guy that opposing defenses key in on. He's been double covered and the gameplan hasn't really centered around Alex Smith and the passing game. Running back Frank Gore is carrying the load right now, and that is suiting the 6-1 49ers just fine.

So again, Davis isn't disappointing, by any means. He's being double covered as the 49ers receivers struggle and has been kept in to block an awful lot, contributing to one of the league's best rushing attacks. But he's still a little bit frustrated. Aside from disliking the double coverage, Davis is definitely frustrated that he's not catching the ball or putting up the stats.

The thing about the Vernon Davis of now and the Vernon Davis of a few years ago is that this one is OK with it. This Vernon Davis is a team player just happy to get a win. Instead of having diva-esque frustrations, he's having the run-of-the-mill "I want to help more" kind of frustrations, while doing everything that's asked of him. Either way, he's still frustrated ... and that might be a big deal.

Last time Davis was "frustrated," he caught eight passes for 114 yards in a win over the Cincinnati Bengals in week three.

Perhaps that means he's in for a big game against the Redskins, yeah? Maybe - the Redskins do have a good pass defense, though - and they haven't been giving up big games to tight ends. But neither do the Bengals.
