There are several individuals who were involved in some capacity that played for the 49ers, and some who saw their best days with San Francisco, particularly during their greatest era of success.
Roger Craig was the starting tailback for the Niners from 1983 to 1990, and provided the perfect foil for Joe Montana and the West Coast offense.
Edward DeBartolo, Jr. is one of the most successful owners in NFL history, taking over in 1979. He made two of the most important personnel decisions for the franchise--hiring Bill Walsh and drafting Montana. Success followed him throughout his run as franchise manager, as the team won five Super Bowls and nearly made it to multiple others.
Charles Haley started his career with the Niners and won two Super Bowls in an early impact role. He made his name though as one of the physical edge rushers for the Dallas Cowboys in helping them win three Super Bowls. He's the only player to have won five Super Bowl rings.
Defenders Chris Doleman and Kevin Greene finished their careers with San Francisco, but they did their best work with the Minnesota Vikings and St. Louis Rams respectively.
