Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, Week 12: David Akers, Delanie Walker Top The List

The San Francisco 49ers travel to Baltimore to face the Ravens on Thanksgiving in what could be an intense defensive struggle. The two defenses have been playing as well as anybody lately, which could make for a low-scoring game. It also makes fantasy football tips a bit more difficult. From an offensive standpoint, it's hard to suggest many of the players involved in what could end up a 13-10 victory for one of the two teams.

Among potentially available San Francisco 49ers players, I could see Delanie Walker and David Akers being the two best choices. For Walker, when the 49ers feel the need to get a bit more conservative in the game plan, even when they are passing a fair amount, Delanie Walker seems to get the call. We saw it against the Lions and we saw it again against the Giants. He is a roll of the dice, but if you are having tight end problems, he is an intriguing play against a strong defense.

David Akers is a fun little option as well because some folks might unload him after a tough day against the Arizona Cardinals. Akers had a ton of kicking opportunities but had two field goals blocked and pulled another one wide. If somebody has unloaded Akers because of that one bad performance, you should pounce on him.

Kendall Hunter loses value against a strong Ravens defense, particularly with Frank Gore looking solid against the Cardinals. Hunter is a decent player to stash on your bench, but not much more for now.
