San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore enters Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals listed as questionable on the team's injury report. He has been dealing with a knee issue this week, which cost him most of the second half against the New York Giants. That followed an ankle injury that limited him in practice for much of last week.
Gore has been limited again this week, but is expected to start against the Arizona Cardinals. The question is how much playing time he will get. At this point, it really remains a toss-up. The 49ers have said they are not looking ahead to the coming short week and Thursday's showdown with the Baltimore Ravens, but if they take a sizable lead early, Frank Gore could find himself on the sideline at some point before the game ends.
Kendall Hunter is an able backup running back and could be looking at a decent amount of touches whatever Gore's status. The 49ers offense has been so unpredictable to this point that nothing would surprise me. Frank Gore will start, which means if you have him you need to get him in your lineup. If you have Gore AND Hunter, I really think you just have to stick with Gore and hope for the best. If you only have Hunter, he could be a solid flex option this week.
