49ers Vs. Redskins Odds: San Francisco Enters As Slight Favorites

The San Francisco 49ers are in the middle of a special season, moving to 6-1 and maintaining their firm grip of the NFC West last week with a 20-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns. This week, the 49ers head east to take on the struggling Washington Redskins (3-4). The odds place the 49ers as 3 to 4.5-point favorites, according to Odds Shark.

The line may be a little too generous in favor of the Redskins. Washington is in the middle of a three-game losing streak with lots of controversy swirling around its quarterback situation. Both Rex Grossman and John Beck have struggled this season, and their inconsistent play is taking its toll on the offense. The Redskins didn't score at all against the Buffalo Bills last week and are averaging just 11.0 points over their past three contests.

By comparison, the 49ers are averaging 31.0 points over their last three games. San Francisco's defense has also suffocated opponents all season, ranking 10th in the league in total yards allowed and first in total rushing yards allowed.

The 49ers are in good position to take over this game on the road and add to their fine season. If the Redskins do not solve their inconsistent quarterback problems, the 49ers should easily cover the spread.
