The San Francisco 49ers must be brimming with enthusiasm and confidence. They kept their momentum rolling by handing the Detroit Lions their first loss of the season and headed into a well-earned bye week. Let's see if the odds are in their favor as they get set to host the Cleveland Browns in Week 8.
According to SB Nation's odds partner, OddsShark, the Niners are indeed the favorites. That should probably come as no surprise considering that the Browns only scored 6 total points in last week's game (they won that game, by the way). After opening as 9.5 point favorites, the line ranges between 7.5 and 9.5 for San Francisco, but every odds maker has them projected to win by more than a touchdown. That's probably not too much of a stretch.
The over/under for the game is steady at 38.5, but again, you can't ever count on the Browns to hold up their end of the whole "score points" deal. I'd say that picking the 49ers to cover the spread is the safer of the two options.
