Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, Week 8: Delanie Walker, Braylon Edwards Look Like Solid Options

The San Francisco 49ers are coming off a bye week and as they head into their week eight matchup with the Cleveland Browns, they have a few interesting fantasy football options. League waiver wires will begin to process Wednesday morning, which means you need to jump on whatever players are out there. Early in the season you might be able to hop on the next big thing that comes out nowhere. But when you get to week eight, you need a slightly better nose for talent to scrape the bottom of the barrel.

For the San Francisco 49ers, the player you should seriously consider adding is tight end Delanie Walker. While Walker plays in the shadow of Vernon Davis, he is tied for the team lead in touchdowns and is quickly becoming an every down player. His improved blocked does not help you in fantasy, but it does allow the 49ers to switch to a base two tight end set. They can run or pass from it, which opens the door for more target opportunities for Walker. He is an excellent bye week tight end option.

Braylon Edward will be returning to the 49ers this week after a month's absence with a knee injury. Most leagues likely saw him waived at some point since then. The 49ers receivers are not the best option, but before the injury he was showing solid chemistry with Alex Smith. It is hard to know what to expect this first week back, but there is enough of a chance of some big games the rest of the way that I would recommend adding him to stash on your bench.
