The Sacramento Kings looked like they were in good shape to win this one when they held a five point lead with 28 seconds left in regulation, but Aaron Afflalo rallied the Nuggets with a three pointer, then down three and bare milliseconds left on the clock, Marcus Thornton fouled Afflalo shooting a three, and Afflalo nailed all three free throws to tie the game.
After Tyreke Evans made some huge buckets to keep Sacramento afloat in overtime, Ty Lawson nailed a three pointer thanks to a poor close by Evans with four seconds left to break the tie and put Denver up three. Francisco Garcia got a good look off the subsequent inbounds thanks to a DeMarcus Cousins screen, but the three came up well short.
Afflalo finished with 32 points, Lawson added 16 points and 13 assists, Kenneth Faried had a career high 20 points to go along with 12 rebounds, Al Harrington added 14 points and nine rebounds, and Andre Miller dished 11 assists of his own. Thornton and Evans led the Kings with 27 points each, John Salmons had 14 points, Jason Thompson put in 13 and Francisco Garcia had 11.
