Sacramento Kings Run Out Of Steam, Lose 114-108 To Detroit Pistons

The Sacramento Kings got off to a strong start against the Detroit Pistons and managed to maintain a steady lead for most of the first three quarters. They were on pace for around 115-120 points and were doing quite well offensively.

Unfortunately, they ran out of steam at the end.

Detroit cut the lead to two by the end of the third, then outscored Sacramento 28-20 in the fourth to win narrowly. Rodney Stuckey had a career night with 36 points on 20 shots, torching the Kings defense all night long. Brandon Knight added 23 points and 10 assists, while Tayshaun Prince contributed 22 points and 10 boards. The Pistons shot 46% from the field, but also got 10 more field goal attempts and 25 free throw attempts in all thanks to great rebounding, 16 offensive boards in all.

The Kings shot fairly well from the field (50% in all) but went cold in the final quarter. DeMarcus Cousins led the way with 26 points and 15 rebounds, Marcus Thornton added 24, and Tyreke Evans had nine assists and six rebounds to go along with his 16 points. Isaiah Thomas and Jason Thompson added 13 apiece.
