Marcus Thornton Home Debut Leads Kings To Emotional Victory Over Clippers

Marcus Thornton made a good first impression for the Sacramento Kings, scoring 16 of his 29 points in the 4th quarter to lead his team over the Los Angeles Clippers. Amidst the cries of "Here We Stay" and "Beat LA", Thornton's performance capped off an emotional week for fans of the beleaguered franchise, who could be at the eleventh hour of their stay in the California state capital.

It'll be the final game for the Kings in Arco Arena before it's renamed Power Balance Pavilion, but it's also important for being the last game before the supposed March 1st filing date for the Maloof brothers to potentially file for relocation to Anaheim.

Beno Udrih chipped in 19 points and seven assists, while Omri Casspi had 15 points and eight rebounds. DeMarcus Cousins seems to be slumping against the rookie wall, but thanks to some good defensive plays by him and Thornton, they managed to stave off the assault of Blake Griffin (27 points and 12 rebounds), who got solid support from Randy Foye (23 points), Mo Williams (16 points) and Chris Kaman (12 points).
