Sacramento Kings Sign Jimmer Fredette, Tyler Honeycutt, Isaiah Thomas

Jimmer Fredette has created quite the buzz in the basketball world during the last 24 months or so. Once a skinny, nonathletic shooter who was relatively unknown at BYU, Fredette propelled himself to a lottery draft pick and an excellent opportunity to succeed with the Sacramento Kings. Now an eager rookie ready to begin his NBA career, Fredette, Tyler Honeycutt and Isaiah Thomas all signed their rookie contracts as training camp began on Friday.

From the official release:

"The Sacramento Kings today signed rookies Jimmer Fredette (guard), Tyler Honeycutt (forward) and Isaiah Thomas (guard) to contracts, according to Kings' President of Basketball Operations Geoff Petrie. Per team policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Fredette was selected 10th overall in the first round (traded from Milwaukee) of the 2011 NBA Draft out of BYU. Honeycutt (35th overall) and Thomas (60th overall) were second round selections by the Kings out of UCLA and Washington, respectively."

Jimmer also tweeted his fans and followers:

Signed the deal today so I'm finally an NBA basketball player now! Excited to be apart of the kings organization!

Welcome to Sacramento, Jimmer. We can't wait to see you drill some 27-foot 3's for years to come.
