Kings vs. Trail Blazers Final Score: Sacramento Struggles Mightily In First Road Game

After playing a nearly flawless game against the Lakers on Monday night, the Sacramento Kings were completely lost in Portland as they fell to the Trail Blazers by a score of 101-79. Sacramento led most of the first half, although the wheels started to come off early in the third quarter and there was no looking back from there. After scoring 25 points in the first ten minutes of the game, the Kings scored just 54 in the next 38.

DeMarcus Cousins led the way with 16 points on 18 shots, although he was rather inefficient with five fouls and four turnovers. After shooting the lights out against LA, Marcus Thornton couldn't make anything throughout most of the contest and ended with just 14 points on 5 of 15 shooting. Tyreke Evans looked completely lost on both ends of the court and he ended with just four points, two rebounds and two assists. Jimmer Fredette scored 10 and shot 1-for-5 from behind the arc.

The Trail Blazers played stellar team defense throughout and could not be stopped in the second half. Gerald Wallace led the way with 25 points, while LaMarcus Aldridge dominated the paint for 24 points and eight rebounds. With the win, Portland improves to 2-0 on the season, while the Kings fall to 1-1.
