The Sacramento Kings and the Los Angeles Lakers are playing a slightly ragged contest early on, taking a 21-20 lead after one period. The scorers are the one putting the points up, as Marcus Thornton has seven points, Tyreke Evans six, and John Salmons five.
For the Lakers, Kobe Bryant is off to a slow start, hitting only two of his first eight shots. Pau Gasol has been even worse, missing all three of his shots and not collecting a single rebound.
The Kings are shooting over 50% from the field, while the Lakers (fresh off a back-to-back) are around 40%. The Lakers seem to be passing the ball better (seven assists to Sacramento's three) and grabbing more rebounds, particularly on the offensive glass, which is allowing them to hang around.
