Paul Pierce With 15 First Quarter Points, Celtics Lead 28-22 Over Kings

The Boston Celtics seemed to dominate the first quarter, but they only lead by 6 over the Sacramento Kings. The offense ran through Rajon Rondo (five assists), and Paul Pierce (15 points on 6 of 8 shooting, along with three steals). Boston charged out to an early 10-2 lead before the Kings roared back to tie the game and take a brief lead, but the Celtics quickly reasserted themselves behind the playmaking of Pierce.

Beno Udrih hit all three of his shots and scored nine points to lead the Kings. Jason Thompson and DeMarcus Cousins have three blocks and nine rebounds. There will be plenty of things the Kings need to improve on, like offensive boards (5 for the Celtics, 0 for the Kings), and turnovers (5 for the Kings, 2 for the Celtics). Those numbers have led to at least ten more shots for Boston, which has probably been the difference in this one.
