The Oakland Athletics wrapped up the first half of their 2012 season by playing a three-game series against division rivals the Seattle Mariners. In Sunday's rubber game and series finale, the A's managed a walk-off, 2-1 win in 13 innings.

Yoenis Cespedes hit an RBI single in the bottom of the first inning to stake the A's to a 1-0 lead. In the top of the sixth, Michael Saunders hit a two-out RBI single of his own to score Dustin Ackley.

The game went to extra innings still knotted at 1-1. In the bottom of the 13th, Jemile Weeks singled to lead off the inning and was driven in by a Josh Reddick double for the winning run and the walk-off Oakland win.

Oakland starter Bartolo Colon was masterful, going 8.2 innings and giving up one run on seven hits and no walks, striking out five Seattle batters along the way.

The A's will now head into the All-Star break sitting comfortably at .500, with a 43-43 record and 8.5 games out of first place in the American League West

The Oakland Athletics were hoping to stretch their winning streak to six games on Saturday night against the Seattle Mariners. Unfortunately, Seattle evened up the three-game series with a decisive 7-1 win in what was the worst start of the season for starter Jarrod Parker.

The Mariners scored in the top of the first inning, as John Jaso hit a two-out single to left field that ended up scoring Michael Saunders from first thanks to a missed catch error by Coco Crisp.

The A's evened things up in the bottom of the first, however, with the 20th Josh Reddick homer of the year. Unfortunately, that would be the last gasp for Oakland.

The Mariners picked up two runs in the second inning on a Brendan Ryan double, another run in the fourth on a Casper Wells homer and three more in the fifth on a bases-loaded, two-out double by Kyle Seager.

Parker went just 6.2 innings, giving up six runs (five earned) on six hits and two walks, although he did strike out six Mariners batters. The A's will try to pick up the win in the rubber game on Sunday, in what will be the last game before the All-Star break.

The Oakland Athletics hosted the Seattle Mariners on Friday in the opener of a three-game series at O.co Coliseum. The A's entered the game with a four-game winning streak and trailed for nearly the entire game before forcing extra innings and walking off with a 4-1 win.

The Mariners got on the board right away, as Casper Wells scored in the top of the first inning on a Kyle Seager two-out RBI single to make it 1-0 Seattle. Although Oakland starter Tom Milone was on top of his game for seven innings, Mariners starter Kevin Millwood matched him frame for frame, holding Oakland batters to just three hits and two walks over seven innings, while striking out seven.

Milone struck out nine Seattle batters over seven innings, allowing six hits and one walk. Three of those six hits came in the first inning and every hit by the Mariners was a single.

The A's finally got on the board in the bottom of the eighth, when Jemile Weeks hit a two-out RBI single that plated Brandon Hicks. Oakland threatened in the bottom of the ninth with two runners on, but were unable to get anyone home and the game went to extra innings.

In the bottom of the 11th inning, the A's broke through. This time Chris Carter got to be the hero, blasting a one-out, three run homer for the walk-off win to send everyone home happy.

The Oakland Athletics are flying at the moment and hoping to continue carrying that momentum all the way into the All-Star break. The only thing standing in their way are old rivals the Seattle Mariners. These two teams have already played one another plenty of times this season, but the A's are on a big upswing and the Mariners seem to be settling into a familiar rut as one of the worst teams in the American League.

The A's will send what has been a very consistent lineup as of late to the plate against the Mariners. The x factor in the Seattle lineup is Carlos Peguero, who has been called up to fill an outfield spot for Franklin Gutierrez, who is on the 7-day concussion DL.

Here are the starting lineups for Friday's series opener:

Athletics

1. Coco Crisp (S) CF
2. Jemile Weeks (S) 2B
3. Josh Reddick (L) RF
4. Yoenis Cespedes (R) LF
5. Seth Smith (L) DH
6.
The A's are gaining a head of steam heading into the All-Star break. They host the Mariners for a trio of games at the O.co Coliseum.

The Oakland Athletics hoped that a return to the O.co Coliseum would provide them with some momentum and thus far it has delivered in spades. The A's swept the Boston Red Sox in three straight games and are definitely rolling as they head into their final series of the first half.

The Seattle Mariners are coming to town for the last three games before the All-Star break begins on Monday. The A's are looking like a much stronger team at the moment than their American League West rivals and will try to keep the wins coming heading into the unofficial midpoint of the season.

TV Schedule & Probable Pitchers

Friday's game will begin at 7:05 p.m. PT and will be televised on CSN California. You can catch the radio broadcast on 95.7 FM The Game. Kevin Millwood will come into the game with a 3-6 record and has been dealing with some groin issues as of late. He'll take on lefty Tom Milone, who is 8-6 with a 3.73 ERA.

The first pitch on Saturday will be at 7:10 p.m. PT and the game will be televised on CSN California. You can catch the radio broadcast on 95.7 FM The Game.. Jason Vargas enters at 7-7 and tries to climb back over .500 as he takes on Jarrod Parker, 5-3 with a 2.46 ERA.

The finale on Sunday will begin at 1:05 p.m. PT and will be televised on CSN California. You can catch the radio broadcast on 95.7 FM The Game. The last game in the series should be a sparkling pitching matchup, as Seattle ace Felix Hernandez takes on the 6-7 Bartolo Colon, who looked good in his first game back from the DL.
