The Oakland Athletics only scored five runs at Safeco Field over the past three days, but it was just enough to take two out of three games against American League West division rivals the Seattle Mariners. The teams swapped solo home runs on Wednesday as the A's picked up the 2-1 win in the rubber game.

Coco Crisp led off the game with a home run to right field, putting the Mariners in a hole early. John Jaso evened things up with a solo homer of his own in the bottom of the second inning. Both starters held the score right there until Yoenis Cespedes hit his ninth homer of the year to center field for the 2-1 A's lead, which would end up being enough to give Oakland the win.

Oakland starter Jarrod Parker went seven strong innings, allowing three hits and four walks, but striking out nine Mariners batters. He improves to 4-3.

The Oakland Athletics were attempting to secure a series win against division rivals the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night. In the end, the A's were unable to muster enough offense as the Mariners took the game by a final score of 3-2.

The Mariners struck first, scoring twice in the bottom of the third inning on an RBI doble by Frankling Gutierrez and a sacrifice fly by Kyle Seager.

The As' finally managed to get on the board in the top of the seventh, when Yoenis Cespedes hit his eighth home run of the year to cut the Mariners lead in half. Seth Smith hit a two-out double and Jonny Gomes drove him in with an RBI single to tie things up, 2-2.

The Mariners reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the eighth thanks to an RBI single from Brendan Ryan. The Mariners bullpen was able to hold on for the win.

Travis Blackley had a no decision after another strong start, allowing two runs in seven innings of work on five hits and a walk.

The A's will try to take the series in the rubber match on Wednesday.

On Monday, the Oakland Athletics were back in familiar territory as they visited their division rivals the Seattle Mariners in the opening game of a three-game series at Safeco Field. Both teams showed anemic offense on Monday and both teams featured sparkling pitching. In the end though, the A's were able to get the one big hit the Mariners couldn't in an eventual 1-0 win.

Seth Smith hit a one-out home run in the top of the second inning. It was one of just three A's hits in the game and the only extra-base hit from either side. The A's never even managed to get another baserunner to second base in the game. Seattle starter Erasmo Ramirez was great through eight innings, but the game belonged to Oakland thanks to Smith and to A's starter Tom Milone.

Milone gave up seven hits -- all singles -- and no walks through seven innings of work, striking out five Mariners along the way. The M's were held to 0-for-2 with runners in scoring position.

The A's will try to secure a series win on Tuesday.

The A's and Mariners meet up yet again at Safeco Field. Will the A's pick up the series win?

The Oakland Athletics and the Seattle Mariners are no strangers at this point. The division rivals have already locked horns several times in 2012 and will meet up yet again for another three-game series at Safeco Field beginning on Monday.

The A's have definitely found a groove since the last time they visited the Mariners. They will try to keep their bats hot as they face their old enemies. The good news for Oakland? They won't have to face ace Felix Hernandez this time around.

TV Schedule & Probable Pitchers
