Not too many teams are lucky enough to have one of their kickers be good enough to make the Pro Bowl roster. For the Oakland Raiders, they'll send both of their guys to Hawaii in 2012 after Sebastian Janikowski and Shane Lechler were selected for the team.

Janikowski has wowed the football world in the last few years with his huge kicks and was finally rewarded for his work. He hit 27 of his 31 field goal attempts and has made fifteen from more than 41 yards away, including six of 50 yards or more. Even if the AFC's high-flying offense stalls on occasion in the Pro Bowl, it's safe to think they will be in good hands with Janikowski kicking.

Lechler has continually helped Oakland out with big punts this season, averaging 50.7 yards per-kick. He sent one ball 80 yards and is putting 35.1% of his punts inside the 20 yard line. The Pro Bowl seldom sees more than a few punts, but the AFC can rest assured Lechler will put their defense in good field position.

It's fitting that these two would make the 2012 Pro Bowl, especially with each of them being the highest paid kicker and punter in NFL history. I'm not sure if that's more of a good thing or a bad thing for the Raiders, but it's fitting for that franchise to hold the honor.

The Oakland Raiders are sending three members of their team to the Pro Bowl.

Two have been shoo-ins for awhile. Sebastian Janikowski has had another amazing season, hitting 12 of 15 field goals from 40 yards and beyond, including an NFL-tying record 63 yarder. Shane Lechler has been booming punts all season, with an average of 50 yards on his punts and 40 yards on his nets. Richard Seymour is a small surprise; he only has 27 tackles on the year but did accumulate six sacks.

The Raiders also had four alternates selected for the Pro Bowl. These include S Tyvon Branch, DT Tommy Kelly, RB Darren McFadden and FB Marcel Reece. They would be available to fill in for players that cannot play due to injury, playing in the Super Bowl the following week, or other reasons.

For the Raiders Pro Bowlers, Lechler and Janikowski led the fan vote. According to Bill Williamson, here are the Raiders that finished top five in fan voting: McFadden (4th), Marcel Reece (3rd - FB), Seymour (2nd - DT), Tommy Kelly (5th - DT), Tyvon Branch (4th - SS), Jacoby Ford (4th - KR), Rock Cartwright (4th - special teams). The team is determined by fan, player and coach vote with each group worth 1/3 the final vote, so it looks like the votes for Seymour made a huge difference.

The Oakland Raiders have a one-two special teams punch unlike any other in the NFL, and now have the Pro Bowl votes to prove it as punter Shane Lechler and kicker Sebastian Janikowski lead their respective positions in fan voting for the AFC Pro Bowl squad.

Lechler has racked up 228,782 fan votes thus far, and is currently averaging 50.5 yards per punt this season, three yards longer than his career average.

As for Janikowski, he has received 244,512 votes so far, and is 88.9% on field goals for the year, and a perfect 33/33 on extra points. He’s tied the NFL record with a 63 yard boot this season already, and has made six 50-yard plus field goals this season as well.

The Oakland Raiders may have the most dangerous special teams combination in all of football, and now have the pro bowl votes to prove it as kicker Sebastian Janikowski and punter Shane Lechler are currently the leading vote getters at their respective positions for the AFC.

Janikowski is sitting pretty with 148,072 votes and is currently 22/24 on field goals this year including eight from 40-49 yards and five 50+ monsters as well. He even tied the NFL record of 63 yards back in week one against the Broncos. Lechler currently owns a respectable 141, 171 votes thus far, and is 51.5 yards per punt this season, including an 80-yarder last week against the Bears.

Balloting will conclude on Monday, December 19 following the conclusion of Monday Night Football (Pittsburgh Steelers at San Francisco 49ers, ESPN, 8:30 pm (ET). The teams will be announced at 7:00 pm (ET) Tuesday, December 27 on a special NFL Total Access 2012 Pro Bowl Selection Show on NFL Network.

The 2012 Pro Bowl will be played on Sunday, January 29, 2012 and televised live on NBC at 7:00 pm (ET) from Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Shane Lechler and Sebastian Janikowski look like they'll be returning to the Pro Bowl as top special teams performers in the AFC.

The Oakland Raiders are leading in the AFC West, and outside of Darren McFadden, they're doing it with no great performers. Currently McFadden is probably the only Raider on either side of the football who can likely earn a Pro Bowl bid, but he's probably trading Fred Jackson (current leader) and Arian Foster in the AFC Pro bowl voting.

So we have to turn to the usual suspects for who's currently leading the Raiders vote. Namely, the outstanding special teams performers. Sebastian Janikowski leads all kickers with 89,925 votes, and Shane Lechler leads all punters with 87,554 votes.

Janikowski has converted an incredible 93 percent of field goals (14 of 15), including tying an NFL record with a 63 yard field goal. He's also averaging 63.5 yards per kickoffs. Lechler is booting at an incredible 51.7 yards per punt with a net average of 39.8 yards and 14 punts going inside the 20. Both are clearly the class of their positions, and seem ready for a Pro Bowl berths.
