The San Diego Chargers finally got off their mortifying losing streak when they beat up the Jacksonville Jaguars 38-14 on Monday Night Football. Philip Rivers torched a Jaguars pass defense missing much of their secondary, and San Diego moved to within two games of the AFC West lead.

Despite being 5-7, the Chargers are not quite yet dead for that division title, with the Oakland Raiders and the Denver Broncos both only 7-5. However, the West seems very much up for grabs with the Kansas City Chiefs also holding the same record as San Diego. Oakland will have to monitor the teams behind them, but their main competition for the division title remains Denver. You can never count out San Diego though, even if they have brutal games forthcoming against Baltimore and Detroit before they square off with Oakland in Week 17.

The Oakland Raiders had one of their worst games of the 2011 season on Sunday when they were handed a 34-14 loss against the Miami Dolphins. In actuality, the score only got that close at the end, as Oakland was completely shut out until the second half of the fourth quarter.

Quarterback Carson Palmer was the lone offensive force for the Raiders, outshining his opposite number in Miami's Matt Moore as the leading passer of the game.

Palmer finished the game going 20-for-41 with 273 passing yards, an interception and Oakland's only two touchdowns of the game. The fourth quarter touchdown passes were a 40-yarder to T.J. Houshmandzadeh and a short pass to Darrius Heyward-Bey.

Although Palmer was one of the bright lights for Oakland, nothing about the game was particularly glimmering. Palmer's 20-for-41 record in the game should be noted, as the Raiders only converted two third downs all day. Heading into Green Bay next week, that type of performance will hardly wash against a Packers team that can smell blood.

The Oakland Raiders went into Miami hoping to maintain their one-game lead over the Denver Broncos, or maybe even extend it to two games. Unfortunately that was not the case. The Raiders took one on the chin as they lost 34-14. The game wasn't even that close as the 49ers added both touchdowns in the fourth quarter after already trailing 34-0. Up in the great white north, the Denver Broncos continue their insane recent run as they won another fourth quarter comeback with a 35-32 win over the Minnesota Vikings.

The Broncos got a solid effort from Tim Tebow who completed 10 of 15 passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns while only rushing for 13 yards. Willis McGahee put together a strong performance with 111 rushing yards and a touchdown. The defense struggled mightily, but they held on just long enough to get Matt Prater a chance to kick a pair of field goals in the final 1:33 to get the win.

The Broncos now sit tied for first with the Raiders at 7-5 in the AFC West. Since the Raiders and Broncos split their season series, the first tiebreaker is divisional record. Right now the Broncos are 3-2 and the Raiders are 2-2. However, the Raiders could be in danger of dropping a game back in week 14. The Raiders travel to Green Bay to face the undefeated Packers while the Broncos host the struggling Chicago Bears. The Bears still have a strong defense and great special teams, but their QB situation is abysmal with Caleb Hanie, and now they might be without Matt Forte due to an MCL sprain.

The Raiders will head into Green Bay hoping for a minor miracle, but will more realistically hope Denver trips up against the Bear.

It was a day to forget for the Oakland Raiders down in South Beach as the Miami Dolphins came out firing on offense and stingy on defense, dominating the Silver and Black all afternoon, and eventually blowing them out by the score of 34-14 at Sun Life Stadium.

Miami got on the board on their opening drive with a 48 yard field goal from Dan Carpenter, then tightened the screws on the Silver and Black as Miami's defense held the Raiders to two straight punts on their first two drives. The Dolphins would then put another good looking drive together, leading to another 33 yarder from Carpenter to take a 6-0 lead.

Matt Moore would continue on with a seven play, 63 yard drive that ended with an eventual 12 yard touchdown pass to Davone Bess to make it 13-0 Dolphins heading into the locker room for halftime. That's what it really started to get ugly.

Miami's Clyde Gates took the second half kickoff 77 yards down to the Oakland 25, setting up Reggie Bush with two rushes and an eventual one yard touchdown scamper for the score. The Dolphins would get the ball back a few minutes later, and drive for seven and a half minutes on 13 plays, leading to a 6 yard Matt Moore touchdown run to make it 27-0.

As for the Raiders offense, it was an uphill battle all day as Carson Palmer finshed with 20/41 for 273 yards including a pick six to Kevin Burnett for a 34 yard touchdown return with about five minutes left in the third to make it 34-0. He would eventually hit T.J. Houshmandzadeh for a 40 yard TD pass to make it 34-7 with about eight minutes left in the fourth quarter, ensuring the Silver and Black would not be shut out for the second time this year, and follow it up with another three yard TD pass to Darrius Heyward-Bey, his second tug of the season. But it was too little, too late.

The frustration was obvious for the Raiders as Richard Seymour would be ejected for throwing a punch, committed 10 penalties as a team, and had possession of the football for only 21 minutes compared to the 37 of Miami.

As for the Dolphins Reggie Bush had himself quite the afternoon, rushing 22 times for 100 yards while Matt Moore finished 13/25 for 162 yards including the aforementioned rushing and passing touchdowns. After starting 0-7, the Dolphins have now won four of their last five, while the Raiders earn their first loss in their last four games.

The Oakland Raiders came into the third quarter already with a 13 point defecit, in need of getting a quick score to get back into the game. Instead, the Miami Dolphins added another touchdown just minutes into the quarter, helping extend the Dolphins lead 34-0 at Sun Life Stadium.

Miami's Clyde Gates took the second half kickoff 77 yards down to the Oakland 25, setting up two Reggie Bush rushes and an eventual one yard touchdown scamper by the bruising back. The Dolphins would get the ball back a few minutes later, and drive for seven and a half minutes on 13 plays, leading to a 6 yard Matt Moore touchdown run to make it 27-0. Reggie Bush has 19 carries for 99 yards.

As for the Raiders offense, well, let's just say it's been a bit of a struggle, as Carson Palmer has been erratic all day, finally throwing a pick six to Kevin Burnett for a 34 yard touchdown return with about five minutes left in the third to make it 34-0. Palmer is 11/28 for 120, along with the touchdown for the wrong team. Louis Murphy is the team's leading rusher with 16 yards, though Michael Bush has seven rushes for 10 yards.

With about six minutes left to go in the third quarter between the Oakland Raiders and Miami Dolphins, Oakland defensive lineman Richard Seymour was ejected for throwing a punch at Miami’s Richie Incognito.

Seymour landed a blow to the helmet of Incognito that was obvious to the referees, which immediately flagged him for a personal foul and tossed him from the game. Seymour went to the sideline at first, but had to leave the field of play altogether poer NFL rules for ejected players.

Although the punch thrown be Seymour wasn’t exactly a ‘haymaker’ it was still enough to merit the penalty flag and the ejection from the game.

The Oakland Raiders can not seem to sync up on the offensive side of the ball at Sun Life Stadium in South Beach Sunday as the Miami Dolphins have jumped out to a 13-0 lead heading into the locker room at halftime.

Matt Moore has been solid thus far for Miami, leading a seven play, 63 yard drive that ended with an eventual 12 yard touchdown pass to Davone Bess to make it 13-0 Dolphins. Reggie Bush has been having his way thus far with the Raiders defense, carrying the ball 9 times for 73 yards already, while Anthony Fasano leads with three catches for 58 yards.

Carson Palmer finished the first half 8/17 for 101 yards, with Chaz Schilens leading the way with 3 catches for 51 yards. The Raiders had the ball for only 11:04 minutes compared to the 18:56 of the Dolphins, running only 26 plays compared to Miami's 37.

Hopefully Oakland can invigorate themselves in the locker room and come out firing in the second half.
