The Warriors dug too many holes throughout this game and by the fourth quarter, had dug a crater than was clearly too large to overcome. Dorell Wright led an otherwise offensively inept squad with a career high of 32 points. To go with his 4-9 3-point shooting, Wright showed off an array of short jumpers and drives. David Lee, Stephen Curry, and Monta Ellis combined for 35 points on 13-38 shooting. This is well below their season combined average of 64 point per game.

The Warriors had no answer for the Hawks perimeter passing, which easily created many long and wide-open jumpers throughout the decisive fourth quarter. The Hawks front line of Josh Smith (22 points), Al Horford (21 points), and Zaza Pachulia (11 points) dominated the Warriors on both ends of the floor. Together, Horford and Pachulia went 14-20 from the field. Together, the three of them accounted for 32 of the Hawks 44 rebounds.

The Warriors frustration was captured by one particular Warriors possession in the fourth where Lee rebounded his own miss, well defended by Horford, which Lee then missed a wide open tip-in opportunity. Horford grabbed the rebound and Lee hung his head and trotted back on defense.

Lee struggled to keep up with Horford’s speed and the Hawks’ length in the backcourt in Maurice Evans and Joe Johnson proved too much for Ellis. Stephen Curry struggled, too, from the field missing 9 of 13 shots. But he contributed 11 assists and has now averaged 10 assists since returning from his ankle injury.

Brandan Wright played 1 minute and scored 2 points in his first action since November 13th at Milwaukee.

For the second straight quarter, the Warriors found themselves down double digits after letting the Hawks go on another run early quarter run. This time, the Warriors let the Hawks burst out to a 9-2 run, which the Warriors were forced to battle from begin down double digits, again.

The Warriors managed to bring the game within 4 late in the third behind the scoring of Dorell Wright, currently leading the Warriors with 26 points. The next closest Warrior in scoring is Louis Amundson, who has 10 points on 5-7 shooting.

The Warriors are getting next to nothing from their ‘big three’ in David Lee (6 points), Monta Ellis (7), and Stephen Curry (7). They do amount for 6 of the Warriors 9 fouls though.

Al Horford leads the Hawks with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Josh Smith is nearing a double double with 14 points and 9 rebounds.

Surprisingly, the Warriors are not struggling from the 3 point line or the free throw line. Nor are they fouling at a ridiculous rate. The Warriors just need to begin getting some stops on the defensive end.

After being down 12 after the Hawks went on a 10-0 run to start the second quarter, the Warriors managed to battle back and close the gap to a respectable 5 points.

The Warriors did not have an answer for Al Horford, who is steadily pacing the Hawks with 17 points on 8-9 shooting. On consecutive possessions, Horford used his speed and athleticism to score over David Lee. The first showed Horford bursting past Lee for an easy bucket off the glass, which Vladimir Radmanovic’s help defense never came. Ice stares from Lee.

The next bucket was a lob pass to Horford, who, in mid-air about 5 feet out, caught the pass, turned, and kissed it off the glass for another 2 points.

Luckily, Dorell Wright has been hot for the Warriors, notching 19 points. Monta Ellis, however, has not played well, shooting 2-9 from the field. Stephen Curry, after playing turnover free basketball for the bulk of the first half, committed 2 turnover in the final 3 minutes of the second quarter — both bad passes in traffic.

Real Housewives of Atlanta Kim Zolciak’s iTunes hit “Tardy for the Party” is not only an internet sensation but extremely quotable for just about any situation. The Warriors, known for their horrendously slow starts, are not “tardy” for this “party,” surprisingly keeping pace with the Atlanta Hawks.

Stephen Curry has been having another productive game, seemingly continuing his passing ways of the last few games. After one quarter, Stephen Curry already has 4 assists and 5 points. Dorell Wright leads the Warriors with 7 points off an array of shots, which is good to know that he is settling for those shot-fake foul-drawing 1/3 of the time shots.

Al Horford, a known Warrior Killer in the past, was straight beasting the Warriors towards the end of the 1st quarter, with 3 consecutive buckets. Horford had 8 points on 4-5 shooting and Josh Smith led the Hawks with 10 points.

By the numbers, the Warriors managed to keep their fouls down (3) as were their turnovers (3).

The Warriors begin one of the more hectic roadtrips of the season as they play 5 games between today and next Wednesday. Unfortunately for them, every team they play, aside for the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday, are currently playoff bound teams. How many playoff bound teams have the Warriors beaten lately?

None.

Should Warriors and Warriors fans despair? CSN Matt Steinmetz seems to think so. Tonight the Warriors face the Atlanta Hawks, a rangy and athletic team that has had an up and down season after starting a scintillating 6-0. Since then, they have gone an pedestrian (but impressive for any Warriors squad!) 14-13. After that 6-0 start, Kim Zolciak of the Real Housewives of Atlanta might be the talk of the town more so than anyone on the Hawks' squad.

[Kim Zolciak at White Party (via GAYSTAR001)]

Has she ever been invited to sing at halftime? She should with Kandice Burruss and the rest of Xscape singing back-up vocals.

Oddly, the Hawks are one of the worst scoring and rebounding teams in the NBA. After elbow surgery, Joe Johnson looks to be playing more like himself. Except he is shooting 40% from the field. Luckily for the Warriors, Al Horford is hurting with a hand injury. But hand injuries nor skill level has ever stopped anyone from being a Warrior killer. And I see Al Horford's interior presence making life difficult for David Lee and the rest of them.

Stephen Curry finally shook off some rust and scored 17 points against the Philadelphia 76ers. David Lee broke the twenty point barrier for the second game in a row, going for 21 points again and doing it off 50% shooting. Monta Ellis, playing through an ankle injury and awarded the Western Conference Player of the Week, has been playing at a all-star ... if not MVP level.

Calling a player that many fans and sports critics have called "selfish" an MVP may sound ridiculous, I know. But for a team that has continuously been below .500, the fact that this Warriors squad can even put a 2 game winning streak together is remarkable. It's all relative, right? But honestly, if the Warriors were a .500 a team, at the very least, are MVP considerations for Ellis a ridiculous idea?
