The bad news: the rest of the team did nothing. Tyson Chandler racked up 17 rebounds against the size-deficient Heat, Caron Butler scored 23, and Dirk scored 22 to lead the Mavs to their fifth straight win. The Mavericks outscored the Heat 31-17 in the 3rd quarter to build an 82-66 lead heading into the 4th that would not be surmounted.

A day after I called out Sam Dalembert for being relatively useless on the offensive side of the ball, the big man scored 12 points, marking just the second time this season he has reached double digits. Jason Thompson led the Kings with 18 points while the Luther Head starting experiment didn’t work out so well – he had only 3 points. The Kings got an abysmal contribution from the bench (22 points total on 9-of-30 shooting), while key bench player Francisco Garcia missed his second straight contest with the flu.

Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Dorell Wright scored a career-high 30 points and set a franchise record with nine three-pointers as Golden State topped Minnesota, 104-94, at the Target Center.

Monta Ellis added a double-double with 26 points and 10 assists while Stephen Curry finished with 20 points and seven assists for the Warriors, who snapped a five-game skid.

David Lee, who made his return to the Warriors after missing eight games with an elbow injury, added 10 points and six rebounds.

"He's a big facilitator for our team," said Warriors head coach Keith Smart about Lee. "He does so many more things for our team than just his points and rebounds. He's a communicator and it was great getting him back."

Michael Beasley led the Timberwolves with 28 points and Kevin Love filled the stat sheet with 21 points and 22 rebounds for Minnesota, which has dropped four straight.

Luke Ridnour added 16 points and Darko Milicic contributed nine points and seven rebounds in defeat.

Wright went 5-for-5 from beyond the arc in the third, helping Golden State outscore the Timberwolves by a 36-17 margin in the quarter. As a result, the Warriors took an 84-68 advantage to the fourth.

"[Golden State] shot really well," said Minnesota forward Anthony Tolliver. "That's the danger in playing a team like that. They moved the ball around really well and they made the shots they needed. We just have to be better at making adjustments individually and as a team."

A Reggie Williams jumper opened the fourth quarter and stretched the Warriors' lead to a game-high 18. The Timberwolves chipped away and were within 92-84 on Milicic's layup with seven minutes to play.

The Warriors responded with a Lee layup and Ellis jumper, and Golden State led by at least nine the rest of the way.

Golden State held a 28-26 advantage after a back-and-forth first quarter.

Ellis scored 11 in the second, but the Timberwolves used a balanced attack to take a 51-48 lead into the locker room.

The Warriors ended a three-game road trip, and are now 3-7 away from home...Minnesota won the rebounding battle, 55-32...The Timberwolves committed 22 turnovers that the Warriors turned into 32 points.

The Warriors began the road trip at .500. But since then, the Warriors have lost to sub .500 teams and they continue to descend further and further down the standings with each game.

Last night's loss to the Memphis Grizzlies was somewhat of a relief as the Warriors' offense seemed to find a range of ways to score, which involved great interior passing. Beneficiary of the adjustments on offense was Andris Biedrins who finished the night with 28 points on 13 of 15 shooting. The backdoor cuts that Biedrins was running throughout the night were the same ones that rookie Jeff Adrien ran, finishing with 12 points off the bench.

But defense continues to be the Warriors Achilles heel as they allowed the Grizzlies to shoot 53% from the field and equally from 3-point territory. For the season, the Warriors are allowing their opponents to shoot 47% from the field and in the last several games that percentage has rarely dipped below 50%. Opponents are also shooting 38% from 3-point land as well.

The most striking figure might be that the Warriors have accumulated 396 fouls to their opponents 295. When opponents shoot 79% from the free throw compared to the Warriors 75%, these small differentiations, eventually, can add up.

The Timberwolves, with their revamped roster, have struggled this season but have become one of the more interesting developments in the Western Conference with the rise of PF Kevin Love and F Michael Beasley.

Love, whose effort has been questioned by coach Kurt Rambis, has dedicated himself to hustling, averaging nearly 19 points and 15 rebounds a game. Andris Biedrins will have his hands full tonight, especially on the tail end of a back to back.

Michael Beasley, liberated from his catch and shoot days with the Miami Heat like Dorell Wright, has been justifying why he deserved to be the #2 pick in the 2008 draft, improving his scoring average by 7 points from last season. Although Beasley has struggled against the better teams in the West, failing to hit 20 points against the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs in the last two games, there is no doubt that Beasley will have monster stats against the Warriors tonight the same way he did a few weeks ago with his string of 25+ point games against sub-par Western Conference teams.

Several mental mistakes plagued the Warriors in the beginning of the fourth quarter versus the Grizzlies as they closed the gap to 1 only to have that lead spread to 5 to 10 points again. The Warriors can't afford to turn the ball over as it has continued to doom them night in night out.
