Rolando McClain got a taste of Peyton Manning in his rookie season, and he came away impressed by what he saw. Manning and the Indianapolis Colts defeated the Oakland Raiders 31-26 that day, and Sunday will be the first time the Raiders see Manning since he's joined the Denver Broncos this past offseason. Here's some of McClain's comments about Manning via CSN Bay Area:
"He’s just amazing. As a kid I watched always Peyton Manning and the Colts and I never played him. Then you get in the NFL and you’re like, 'Does he really make this many checks?' He does. It’s crazy. I was amazed. He’s an amazing player."
McClain didn't seem too concerned about the slow start that Manning and the Broncos have had either. Here's what he had to say about dealing with Peyton on Sunday:
"They had a rough start to the season, but at the end of the day he’s still Peyton Manning. He still has all the ability in the world. We have a good game plan. We have to go out there and execute and do some things he hasn’t seen and make it kind of hard for him. You just have to execute and play your best."
McClain will get his second look at a Manning-led offense on Sunday afternoon as the Raiders head to Denver to face the Broncos. The game is scheduled to kick off at 1:05 p.m. PT, and it will be televised on CBS.
