The Oakland Raiders signed linebacker Carl Ihenacho to their practice squad on Thursday afternoon after waiving the linebacker on Tuesday. They have released defensive back Akwasi Owusu-Ansah to make room for Ihenacho on the roster. Here's the announcement via the team's twitter feed:

Ihenacho began his career with the San Diego Chargers in 2011 before joining the Raiders practice squad in December of last year. He made his professional debut with the Raiders in Week 1 of 2012, and was waived by the team on Sept. 25 before being signed to the practice squad.

Owusu-Ansah was a 2010 fourth-round pick by the Dallas Cowboys. He was released by Dallas in 2011, and spent the rest of the season with the Jaguars. After being cut by the Cowboys again this summer, the safety agreed to join the Raiders practice squad. He has not seen the field in 2012.
