The Oakland Raiders will prepare to face the Denver Broncos on Thursday night while their head coach, Dennis Allen, tends to his family in the wake of his father passing on Monday night due to heart problems.
The Raiders lost to the Cleveland Browns, 20-17, on Sunday and now have a short week to prepare for the AFC West-leading Broncos while also having their thoughts with their head coach and his family.
Allen is in Dallas as of Sunday night to be with his family as they deal with the loss of his father, Grady, a former linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons from 1968-1972. Grady, 68, was hospitalized last week.
According to the San Jose Mercury News, offensive coordinator Greg Knapp and defensive coordinator Jason Tarver will speak with Allen on game-related issues but will allow Allen to initiate contact with them.
The Raiders are 3-9 this season and in third place in the AFC West.
