With only three sacks to their credit this season, the Oakland Raiders are currently tied for dead last in the NFL. But how can they get more? CSN Bay Area's Paul Gutierrez went looking for some answers.
With 1.5 sacks by Matt Shaughnessy, 0.5 by Dave Tollefson and one by Richard Seymour, the Silver and Black are in need of more pressure from their front line. Seymour sees a need for players to continue to do the little things and complete their responsibilities and the sacks will follow.
"You give me a time when we've been up in the fourth quarter and have been able to rush the passer," Seymour said. "It works hand in hand. We just need to take care of our responsibilities. I think first and foremost you have to earn the right to rush the passer in terms of stopping the run. You can't just say I'm going to get a bunch of sacks and they run the ball down your throat. You have to stop the run first and be in the game and then those plays will come."
The Raiders will look to up their sack game this Sunday when they take on the Atlanta Falcons in the Georgia Dome. Kickoff is set for 10 a.m. PT with coverage on the CBS Network.
