The Oakland Raiders have signed offensive tackle Nick Mondek and defensive back Akwasi Owusu-Ansah to the practice squad, according to the team's official Twitter feed.

The news comes a day after the team suffered an embarrassing 37-6 loss at the hands of the Peyton Manning-led Denver Broncos that exposed Oakland's depleted secondary and a host of other problems on both sides of the ball. The Raiders gave up 338 yards through the air and 165 yards on the ground to the Broncos.

The Raiders released linebacker Carl Ihenacho and wide receiver Tori Gurley to make room for the new additions. Injuries have plagued the Raiders, who were missing several key players vs. the Broncos.

Khalif Barnes (groin), Darrius Heyward-Bey (concussion), Richard Gordon (hamstring) and Shawntae Spencer were all inactive for the Week 4 game in Denver. Wide receiver Jacoby Ford was placed on injured reserve after undergoing foot surgery that will keep him sidelined for a significant amount of time in 2012.
