NFL Schedule 2012: Oakland Raiders Selected For Monday Night Football Opener

The Oakland Raiders are looking for a big year in 2012 with a new head coach and management calling the shots. Assuming guys like Darren McFadden can stay healthy, the Raiders could be in for a possible playoff run next winter. And despite their poor finish to the 2011 season, the NFL rewarded them with two primetime games when the official schedules were released.

Oakland will make their season debut on Monday Night Football against Phillip Rivers and the Chargers. The game will be telecast by ESPN and should be a great game between two AFC West rivals. You can bet the Raiders will want to come out and make a statement early in the season.

Week 14 will be on NFL Network as the Raiders square off with Tim Tebow Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos on Thursday night. This game will likely kick off the playoff run for both of these teams should they still be in contention, and you can bet the division title will still be up for grabs at this point. Expect an emotional, exciting game from Oakland.
