Jacoby Ford Breaks Left Hand At Oakland Raiders Training Camp

Oakland Raiders head coach Hue Jackson planned for all-around spectacular athlete Jacoby Ford to be a big part of his offense and special teams this season. Jackson told Vittorio Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle that he planned to feature Ford so much that he would be a "household name" sometime this season. Ford's future did look bright, as he returned three kickoffs for touchdowns last year and was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month last November (when he returned two).

Then he had to go and break his hand. Why'd you have to go and do something like that Jacoby?

Paul Gutierrez of CSN California reports Ford broke his left hand in practice, which probably means he'll be out for at least a few weeks. Unless it's a severe hand injury, it's pretty likely that Ford should be back in time for at least most of the season. But how much catching up will he have to do? It's a good thing he's really really fast.
