Darrius Heyward-Bey, a starter at the wide receiver position last season, sat out thursday’s practice with a foot injury. While no one with the Raiders would give any details on the injury, Coach Hue Jackson did note that DHB may be back sooner rather than later.
Raiders defensive end, Trevor Scott is currently on the physically unable to perform list due to the knee injury which ended his season early last year. Now, news has surfaced that second year offensive lineman Bruce Campbell has an undisclosed injury that will likely land him on the PUP list as well.
While it is good to know that DHB’s injury does not appear to be that serious, it is critical that he be able to start practicing soon. DHB will be entering his third year in the league and needless to say, his first two years were pretty big disappointments.
While Al Davis and the Raiders might give DHB one more shot at the starting position, if he is not able to seriously pick up his level of play, he could be riding the bench before the end of the season.
