The NFL Network returns with its series on the Top 100 players in the NFL in 2011 Sunday night and is set to feature Raiders/free agent all-world cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha at No. 18. The series will air at 5:00pm pacific Sunday night and will feature spots 20 through 11. The list was determined by a vote of players, although some 49ers wondered who exactly came up with the list when it resulted in Patrick Willis showing up at No. 23.↵
It's interesting to note that the accompanying fan vote had Nnamdi at 17 so the fans and players seem to think alike when it comes to the Raiders shutdown corner. I have to wonder though if this list might be leaving him a little bit underrated. It's possible that he's so good the lack of big stats (three interceptions over the last four years) hurts his perception at times. After all, people are simply not throwing in his direction so he can't accumulate the stats, which also happens to be one reason he is now a free agent.
