Carson Palmer took awhile to get going in his first start as the Oakland Raiders starting quarterback, but he's started to wheel and deal at the right time to put Oakland up on top.
Palmer did find Jacoby Ford early to set up an early Oakland field goal, but looked ineffective at the start of the first quarter when he threw two completions on eight attempts. But Palmer recovered to complete five of his last six passes, including throwing two touchdowns, one to Michael Bush and another impressive one down the middle to the fullback Marcel Reece. Here's the Reece touchdown below.
Denver had the nice first quarter drive from Tim Tebow, but the Raiders defense has knocked him around. Tebow has six completions on 16 attempts and his last drive before the end of the first half resulted in a Kyle Prater missed field goal. Oakland also took advantage of a flubbed punt by the Broncos to score one of Palmer's two touchdowns. The Broncos need better play from Tebow and the offense in a hurry.
