Raiders vs. Vikings Score Update: Raiders Score 24 Unanswered, Take 24-7 Lead At Halftime

With running back Adrian Peterson suffering an ankle injury late in the first quarter and a big Christian Ponder interception to begin the second, the momentum has shifted heavily in the Oakland Raiders favor against the Minnesota Vikings in the second quarter, with the Raiders scoring 24 unanswered points to take a 24-7 lead at the Metrodome.

Carson Palmer came out hot after the interception, leading a 7 play 53 yard drive capped off with this beautiful 11 yard TD pass to Chaz Schillens:

The Raiders would strike again with another big drive capping an 8 play, 57 yard drive with a two yard Michael Bush TD run to push their lead to 17-7. The Vikings would end up coughing up the ball on the ensuing kickoff with a Lorenzo Booker fumble, setting up another Raiders touchdown, this time with a Carson Palmer one yard rush TD to take the 27-7 lead into the locker room.

Carson Palmer finished the first half 11 for 14 with a rushing and passing touchdown for 109 yards and a solid 122 QB rating, continuing his great play from last week's victory over San Diego. Michael Bush has 49 yards on 11 carries, while Kevin Boss has four catches four 30 yards.

As for Ponder, he's managed only 67 yards of passing, though he's 9 for 11 thus far with an interception. Adrian Peterson's early TD will likely be his only mark on the game as we was carted off the field with a lower leg injury and is questionable to return.
