During Oakland's September 25 game against the New England Patriots, linebacker Ricky Brown suffered a concussion. He was listed as questionable for Sundays' game in Houston up through Friday, but was placed on injured reserve today, according to The Washington Post.
To fill the vacant roster spot, the Raiders have activated Manase Tonga, a fullback from their practice squad. The move makes a lot of sense, with both starter Marcel Reece and backup fullback Richard Gordon currently banged up.
The Raiders-Texans matchup looks to be one of the most interesting of the 13-game Week Five. The Texans are heavily favored, but will be without superstar wide receiver Andre Johnson, and the Raiders are sure to be fired up and emotional following the passing of team owner Al Davis. Regardless of their lack of depth at fullback and down a linebacker, they are certain to be looking for a statement win to dedicate to Davis.
