Darren McFadden Injury: Sprained Foot Leaves Oakland Raiders Star Running Back With Unknown Status

Sunday was not kind to the Oakland Raiders and the loss of star running back Darren McFadden has to be very concerning to the franchise (and his Fantasy Football owners).

McFadden sprained his right foot early in the first quarter and did not return to the game, though he was able to hobble back to the sidelines with the injured foot heavily taped. He recorded just four yards on two rushes before leaving the game. The Kansas City Chiefs ended up winning the AFC West showdown by the score of 28-0.

The Raiders did not play well without McFadden and catch a break with their bye week falling next Sunday during week eight. Not too much else is known about the injury other than the foot is sprained. We may not know more until next week as the team prepares for the Broncos on November 9. One would have to imagine McFadden will miss at least a few days of practice, if not more.

This is a tough break for Oakland, but the good news is the injury is just a sprain. It could have been a lot worse for McFadden and the foot will heal with proper rest and rehabilitation.

SB Nation Bay Area will have full updates on McFadden and the Raiders going forward. Fans should check out Silver and Black Pride for more coverage.
