Darren McFadden Injury Update: Raiders RB On Sideline Early In Third Quarter With Foot Injury

Oakland Raiders running back remains on the sideline early in the second half as the Raiders head back out on the field in the third quarter. Carson Palmer made his Raiders debut but he was backed by running back Michael Bush instead of McFadden.

The Raiders currently trail 21-0 and are looking for some kind of spark. Unfortunately they will have to figure things out without their MVP-caliber running back. McFadden sprained his foot in the first quarter and while he is back on the sideline, his foot is heavily taped right now. While there has been no official announcement, odds would seem high that will not return. We'll see if that changes over the next 23 minutes of game action.

Bush has responded nicely in place of McFadden, rushing for 100+ yards early into the third quarter. Bush has always been a quality backup option and when he gets chances to start he brings some serious power, with a surprising mix of athleticism. The Raiders also have Taiwan Jones in their backfield when they want to mix in more of a speed option.

New Raiders QB Carson Palmer is going to need all the help he can get on the ground as he looks to wipe off some rust following a significant layoff. Whatever the outcome of this game, it should be an interesting tow quarters of football.
