Oakland Raiders Land Aaron Curry In Trade With Seahawks, Give Up 2012 And 2013 Draft Picks

The Oakland Raiders have shored up their linebacking depth by landing former lottery draft pick Aaron Curry. TThe trade with the Seattle Seahawks is now official, and Curry can finally start his NFL career over in a promising situation. Curry was dealt for draft picks, one in each of the next two years.

Curry was a huge disappointment in Seattle, but he isn't going to be asked to do as much in his new role in Oakland. Curry isn't going to be coming in and lighting up the world, just probably playing in a utility position backing up Kamerion Wimbley or Quentin Groves

It isn't clear which draft picks the Raiders had to give up to get Curry, but now their 2012 NFL Draft board is almost totally wiped. The Raiders have no picks in the second, fourth and seventh rounds next year, and it's likely that Oakland had to part with another middle round pick to get the Raider linebacker.

To talk about the Curry acquisition with Raiders fans, head to Silver and Black Pride. To discuss the trade with Seahawks fans and find out about Curry's performance in Seattle, Field Gulls is where to go.
