Raiders Cut Nick Miller, Sign Ron Parker Off Of Practice Squad

The Oakland Raiders have cut wide receiver Nick Miller and signed safety Ron Parker, according to Vittorio Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle. Miller has been with the Raiders for the past two seasons but has caught only three passes for 40 yards during that span.

Miller served as the team's main return man, but has bene replaced this season by Taiwan Jones on kickoff returns and rookie Denarius Moore on punt returns. Miller didn't play last week, and the team ultimately felt that the time had come to cut ties with him.

To replace Miller, the Raiders promoted Parker from the practice squad. Parker is a rookie this year and played for the Seattle Seahawks a few months ago, but was released prior to the season. He should help out the Raiders secondary, which has been hit by injuries lately. Parker could play against the New England Patriots this week, fulfilling every safety's dream of facing Tom Brady in his very first game.
