NFL Week 14 Point Spread, Raiders-Jaguars: Jags Have Home Field Edge Plus A Little

The Jacksonville Jaguars have opened at 4.5-5 favorites at home against the Oakland Raiders. Bettors were apparently leaning towards the Raiders on that line and it now sits at 4-4.5. I wouldn't expect much change in this line as the week goes along, but we will keep track of it for you.

The Jaguars are 4-1 in their last five games and they are clearly playing their best football of the year. The Raiders are coming off what may be there best game of the year, but that followed two of their worst. On the season, the Raiders are 3-3 against the spread on the road, but they are 0-2 against the spread on the road in games that start at 10 AM PST. And they looked really bad in doing so. The Jaguars are 4-2 against the spread at home on the year.

The over/under sits at 43 points. The point total in both games involving these teams last week finished under their line. Unlike last week, where the Raiders made a nice payday for those taking them on the money line, this week they a sitting between +170-180.

I don’t like the bet on the spread in this one. The Raiders have laid some clunkers on the road, but looking at the numbers, this game should be close. The smart money here is on the under.

Both teams had over 50 carries last week and they will look to do that again. This should be a fast game, with fewer possessions for each team. If one team gets the lead over the other, both will do their best to run the ball and the clock. All of which should help keep the score down. Take the under and run.
