Rookie linebacker Rolando McClain is still struggling with a foot injury that kept him out of last week’s game against the Jaguars and caused him to miss a full week of practice. Tom Cable has not given up hope for him playing on Sunday and has said he would be a game time decision. McClain’s foot injury was first described by Cable as being Arthritis, then as tendinitis and then again this week as a deep tissue issue.
At this point, it seems unlikely that he will be able to play on Sunday. With the news emerging that Tim Tebow may be the Broncos starter, it could place more emphasis on McClain’s middle linebacker position. The Broncos do not have the strongest running attack, but will likely rely on it more if Tebow is starting. Also, with Tebow’s penchant to run, the awareness of the linebackers will be tested.
If McClain is not able to go, Ricky Brown will likely get the start. Brown started last week and has played in McClain’s absence at other times during the year.
