Raiders vs. Dolphins: Oakland Leads Miami 14-13 At Halftime As Dan Carpenter Adds Field Goal

The Oakland Raiders enter halftime leading the Miami Dolphins 14-13. The Dolphins chewed up most of the final 5:32 of the first half on a 15 play drive but stalled out on the Raiders five yard line and had to settle for a Dan Carpenter field goal with eight seconds left in the half. The field goal makes this a one point game at the half.

The Raiders offense had stalled out for much of the first half, but Jacoby Ford has almost single-handedly kept the Raiders in this thing. For has 63 combined yards that includes a 44-yard touchdown reception. He also has a 101 yard kickoff return that opened the game with an Oakland touchdown. Bruce Gradkowski was actually fairly solid in the first half completing seven of ten passes for 113 yards. He had the touchdown pass to Ford, but he also threw a costly interception earlier in the half as the Raiders seemed to have a solid drive developing.

The Raiders have lucked out a bit as the Dolphins have only been able to score three points off a pair of Raiders turnovers. Oakland needs to develop a bit more consistency on offense to pull this out. They’ve shown some signs today after an abysmal performance against the Steelers last week. We’ll see if they can get it done in the second half.
