Raiders vs. Dolphins: Henne, Gradkowski Exchange Interceptions In Second Quarter

The Oakland Raiders continue to see their offense bog down as they were unable to capitalize on a big Chad Henne interception. The Dolphins had forced a second Raiders punt and were driving deep into Oakland territory. On 2nd and 9 from the Raiders 11 yard line, Henne fired a pass to Davone Bess that was picked off just short of the end zone by linebacker Rolando McClain. McClain ran the ball back to the 11 yard line and Oakland seemed in business.

The Raiders picked up 28 yards on three plays, with QB Bruce Gradkowski picking up 26 of those yards on two passes to RB Darren McFadden. However, on the next play Gradkowski fired deep to Marcel Reece but it was picked off by Yeremiah Bell. After Bell came down with the pick he appeared to be untouched and he ran 21 yards to the Oakland 46 before being tackled. The Raiders challenged that Bell was down by contact but the call was upheld.

The good news for the Raiders is that they have since forced a three and out and the Dolphins just punted the ball. Oakland’s offense has made a big play here and there today but hasn’t been able to put together any sustained drives. If they want to win this game they need to get some kind of sustained success.
